Blackwing pencils are iconic. The unusual ferrule (the metal bit that connects the pencil to the eraser) design made the pencils a collectors item when they got discontinued in 1998. Palomino then revived the design in 2010, and have since expanded the line. 

The iconic Blackwing 602 was the pencil of choice for John Steinbeck, Chuck Jones, and countless others before it was discontinued. In 2011, Palomino brought it back. The Blackwing 602 features a firm and smooth graphite core that helps it deliver on its promise of “Half the Pressure, Twice the Speed,” a gunmetal grey finish and iconic square Blackwing ferrule with a pink eraser.

Great pencil!

I only did some test-writing on a notepad so far, but you can tell a few lines down that you are holding a high-quality product. wow, I cannot wait to test this on a drawing or my study notes. I am very happy with this purchase. Great pencil!

I wish I could write a review. Unfortunately I have not yet received what I ordered and already payed for, seventeen days ago. It is amazing that things I ordered from Japan arrived in less than a week, and two pencils Blackwing take this long from England, assuming they will still arrive some day. I hope I can write a nice review after I receive my pencils. I suspect however, that my review of The Stationer won’t be very nice. Next time I will just order from Amazon.

Great pencil!
