Blackwing pencils are iconic. The unusual ferrule (the metal bit that connects the pencil to the eraser) design made the pencils a collectors item when they got discontinued in 1998. Palomino then revived the design in 2010, and have since expanded the line. 

The Blackwing Pearl features a pearl white finish, gold imprint, white eraser, and a balanced and smooth graphite core that is softer than the graphite found in the Blackwing 602, but firmer than the graphite found in the Blackwing. Every Blackwing Pearl pencil features the iconic square Blackwing ferrule. Blackwing Pearl pencils come in a 12-pack gift box that doubles as a pencil cup.

Versatile pencil

Good for life drawing classes. Good for crosswords, suduko etc. The rubber on the end of the pencil rubs out mistakes really well. (You can get refill rubbers). Rubber doesn't go hard like other makes. Easy to order in any amount. Fast delivery. Love them have ordered more!!

I genuinely though all pencils were the same. I was wrong. In a fit of "treat yourself" I added a couple of blacking pencils to my recent order. They are just so lovely to use. They write extremely smoothly and there is never a feeling of snagging on the paper. They're definitely worth paying for.
